TAKE ACTION AND SIGN ON TO THIS ADVOCACY LETTER

Grace and peace to you.

I ask you to please read, sign on and share widely this ecumenical letter from Christian leaders addressed to United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Open ecumenical letter from Christian leaders advocating for India’s persecuted religious minorities. This letter offers solidarity with more than 3,000 ecumenical Christian leaders from across the Republic of India who are publicly speaking out against the escalation of ethno-nationalist violence in India.

The surge in state sanctioned violence in India is propelled by an Hindutva supremacist political ideology, which conflates a militant form of Hindu ideology with Indian citizen identities. As a result, both the Hindu religion and India’s Constitutional secular democracy have both been severely distorted, leading to alarming levels of state-sanctioned violence against Christians, Muslims, oppressed lower-caste Dalits, and other religious minorities both on the streets and within state structures. People of all faiths are diminished.

We are asking clergy and laity in leadership positions to sign on  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEnSJwGP4auiPp0uJNNm0pWs7OXEQdf6-
R21M61l5Fd21j_A/viewform and soon we will have a complementary letter for laity to sign.

The cut-off date for signing is May 3, 2024.

Thank you for your advocacy. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Yours in faith,

Neal
