FIACONA’s Silver Jubilee Promotional Event in New Delhi Highlights Unity, Partnership, and Advocacy

The Federation of Indian American Christian Organizations of North America (FIACONA) hosted a landmark promotional event in New Delhi as part of its Silver Jubilee observances, titled “New Delhi Stands with the Persecuted Church.” The gathering, held at the YMCA Auditorium, brought together clergy, church leaders, public figures, and believers from diverse denominations in a strong expression of solidarity and shared mission.
Among the distinguished speakers were Archbishop Anil Couto, Secretary General of the CBCI; Auxiliary Bishop Deepak Tauro; and prominent Christian leaders including Dr. John Dayal, Dr. Nalini Abraham, Rev. Fr. Shinil Jacob, Rev. T Andrews, Pastor TD Simon, Dr. Rajeev Joseph, and Mrs. Grace Paul.
FIACONA Advocacy Director Stanley George delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the organization’s initiatives, recent developments, and strategic efforts to support persecuted Christians across India.
Businesses and Media Seminar
A major highlight of the event was the Businesses and Media Seminar, which exceeded attendance expectations, including participation from business leaders traveling from as far as Kashmir. Attendees proposed several promising ideas for networking, advocacy, and fundraising, further strengthening collaborative efforts nationwide.
Manipur Mission Initiative
As part of FIACONA’s expanding grassroots outreach, Stanley George partnered with Dr. Sei Toutang, a Manipur Minister and a FIACONA associate from Oklahoma, for a youth training camp and the planning and initiation of relief missions in Manipur. During a three-day orientation program, more than 280 young people participated, with approximately 130 dedicating themselves to Gospel missions and community service.
Meetings with Advocacy Organizations
An effective strategy meeting was held with leaders of ADF India at its Delhi headquarters to discuss updates and collaborative mission efforts. Leaders from the United Christian Forum also expressed willingness to partner in joint advocacy initiatives and mission initiatives, reinforcing a unified national approach to defending religious freedom.
Alliance with National Christian Coalition
The Kerala Christian Council, in partnership with FIACONA, initiated a Christian coalition public rally in Thiruvalla to raise awareness and demonstrate solidarity with persecuted Christians. The rally was inaugurated by Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. Alongside metropolitans from various denominations, KCC Secretary General Adv. Dr. Prakash P. Thomas and Stanley George addressed the gathering, calling for unity and constitutional protection of religious liberty.
Engagement with Government Leaders
As part of FIACONA’s continuing advocacy mission, meetings are being scheduled with national and state government leaders to present memorandums addressing escalating incidents of persecution and to respectfully seek governmental attention to safeguarding constitutional rights and religious freedom.
