Christians In India Face Escalating Injustice And Religious Freedom Violations

The Federation of Indian American Christian Organizations of North America (FIACONA) has submitted a formal memorandum to Senior Congress Leader and All India Congress Working Committee Member Mr. Ramesh Chennithala, expressing grave concern over the worsening human rights and religious freedom violations faced by Christians in India in recent years.

The memorandum was presented by FIACONA Advocacy Director Mr. Stanley George, accompanied by Pastor John Kurian of the FIACONA Houston Chapter. The delegation called for urgent intervention by the Congress Working Committee to address the rising number of attacks on Christian missionaries and evangelists throughout the country.

FIACONA urged the Congress Party to:

  • Raise national awareness about the targeted violence and systemic discrimination faced by Christian communities.
  • Support constitutional protections for Christian evangelism and ensure the right to practice and propagate one’s faith without fear.
  • Mobilize Members of Parliament and the Rajya Sabha to speak out and take concrete action in defense of religious freedom.

This appeal comes at a time when Christian communities in India are increasingly subject to harassment, violence, and unjust restrictions. FIACONA reaffirms its commitment to advocating for justice, religious liberty, and constitutional rights for all faith communities in India.
